This bold Tsigello (Mavrodaphne), Dry Red Wine, PGI Slopes of Aigialeia Produced in clay amphora, without any trace of oak. A round, structured red with leafy aromas, black-fruit forward aromas, similar in style to Loire Cabernet Franc and Galician reds. Tsigello is a synonym for Mavrodaphne, which can’t feature on the label as the rules state the variety can only be used to make sweet wines. Lower temps meant lower oxidation. Grapes are hand picked. Free run, barely pressed, only for structure. The traditional edition of Santorini with a modern twist. It was born in the 2019 yield when THALASSITIS OAK FERMENTED was renamed NYCHTERI by GAIA. Fermentation and aging take place in different kinds and sizes of barrels.
