Anapea is family business, in 2013 the family bought an absolutely abandoned, uncultivated land in Kvareli. This land was used by the Soviet authorities in the 20th century and, therefore, we found it totally exhausted and eroded. We started revitalizing it. We built a bio-humus producing plant so as to restore soil fertility; we planted six most ancient Kakhetian grape varieties, including Mtsvivani, Khikhvi, Kisi, Kakhuri Mtsvane (Kakhetian Green), Saperavi and Vardisperi Rkatsiteli Pink Rkatsiteli). So, taking into account the best practices of qvevri wine-making, we built a marani (a wine cellar), with a qvevri being the only wine vessel.
