Bekaa Valley, Lebanon. 100% Cabernet Sauvignon This sturdy red comes from Lebanon's oldest winery, Chateau Ksara, named because it was the site of a kasr, or fortress. Located in the famously fertile Bekaa Valley, wines have been made there since 1857. A modern example is this Ksara Cabernet Sauvignon, made exclusively with Cabernet Sauvignon grapes from a single vineyard. With a dense robe of deep purple and red, the nose is spicy with black currants and ripe red fruits. Firm tannins wrap around a toasted cedar note which gives the palate its power and strength.
