Bekaa Valley, Lebanon. Vegan. Organic. Located in the West Bekaa Valley of Lebanon, the large estate of Château Kefraya has been the Bustros family’s property for generations. Founded by Michel de Bustros, the first vines were planted in 1951, and in 1979 - despite the Lebanese Civil War - they started producing their own wine with their own grapes in their own cellar. Using sustainable farming, they produced this Chateau Kefraya Red wine using hand-harvested Syrah, Cabernet Sauvignon and Cabernet Franc grapes. On the nose, there is complexity over time with aromas of fresh red fruits and menthol initially. These lead to intense notes of violet with hints of coffee and licorice. On the dry yet balanced palate, subtly notes of cherry, spices, leather and vanilla are coupled with silky tannins with floral notes on the finish. This wine pairs well with cured meats, roasted lamb, game meats or your favorite cut of beef. 750 ml
