Mount Helicon, Greece. Organic. 100% Mouhtaro The very rare red grape of Mouhtaro is grown exclusively in the area of Askri, at the foot of Mount Helicon, in Thiva, Central Greece. Muses Estate was the first producer to revive this grape variety thanks to the efforts of Athanasios Zacharias, who brought it back from near-extinction and produced the first vintage in 1998. Muses estate was named after the Muses from Greek Mythology, who were said to have lived on Mount Helicon. Low intervention, organic, wild fermented and unfiltered, this is a thrilling red wine from the Mouhtaro grape, showcasing an explosion of ripe red fruit, spice and silky tannins underpinned by a backbone of acidity. An intense, big, bold, dark red with a bit of licorice. A real rarity and treat, pair with lamb or a hearty steak.
